Dear all, I’ve been contemplating getting a wider prime. I want to use it to take general storytelling photos like indoor pictures, environmental portraits, street scenes, landscape, etc. My most used lens is a 35mm but I also find wider lens can give a different and interesting perspective.

Currently my two choices are the Zeiss T* 25mm f/2 ZE (used copy) and Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art (brand new + USB dock). They cost approximately the same (around $700 which is my budget limit). I am leaning towards the Zeiss for its top-notch IQ and build quality, and I’ve always been dreaming of owning a Zeiss :-). But on the other hand, I've also read many rave reviews about Sigma online and wonder if it’s the better value for money.

Which one would you choose if you were in my shoes?

Thank you for your advice!

I'm sorry, I can't compare the Zeiss to the Sigma but I can tell you that I sold my Canon 24/1.4 II after using the Zeiss for a few weeks.

Thanks a lot. It's a great testament to the quality of Zeiss.
