Back to the original point of this thread, which was B&H Customer Service, I will just add a recent experience (from this week):
I had purchased the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens for $799 several weeks ago. On Sunday I noticed the price had dropped to $699. I contacted Customer Service via email and they responded quickly (within about 12 hours) and credited me with the $100 difference. Not only that, but their emails were extremely courteous.
I realize that there are other authorized dealers with excellent customer service as well (I have ordered from Adorama also), but this particular thread is about B&H Customer Service, & our experiences may be helpful to someone who is not as familiar with online sources for photography equipment.

I have purchased items from B&H for some time now, and have no regrets with their Customer Service, or Mr. Posner (great guy). My only problem is that they switched from UPS to DHL. I understand that it is a money concern. However, it should not take six (6) days to travel 100 miles. Instead of going west from NJ, it went south, then north, and then east. Maybe the cost of the item determines how it is shipped, and the time it takes to deliver.
I am thinking of purchasing the 1Dx II. I may give Buckeye1 a chance, based on what I have recently read here.

That's interesting. I have placed six orders this year and they have all been shipped FedEx. Perhaps they use different shipping companies for different parts of the country or something.

If I order something from B&H, it arrives the day before! They are so fast!!!

I'm about three hours out of NYC and I think they have some special deal with time travel or something.

They use different shipping companies all the time, for sundry reasons.

It's not like they used to use one shipping company, and then they switched. . It doesn't work that way. . They have always used a several different shipping companies. . Just because you happened to get FedEx a few times in a row doesn't mean that FedEx was their "main shipper". . As far as I know, they've never had a "main shipper". . They have always spread their shipping around.

If you call them on the phone and place an order that way, you can tell the salesperson what shipping company you want them to use. . Why not take a few minutes to actually talk to a human about your order, instead of just clicking things on their website and leaving things like shipping up to chance?

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Ozziepuppy. FedEx, around here, drops packages at the top of driveway, and do not even ring your doorbell. UPS rings doorbell, and leaves package at front door. If it needs a signature, they wait for you to answer. I think that you are correct. It depends on where you live.

Tom,
Thanks for the clarification.
