Is LR6 $149 better than LR5? Is the 6 engine faster than the 5? I know 5 does not have the Lens Profile for my 70-300 II and Camera Profile for the 80D I'm planning to Purchase ( or maybe the 5D MKIV ). I do not like the subscription model so CC is out of the question. B&H has the DVD version that I want to buy. Is there anything I should be aware of between LR6 and LR6? Is it pretty seamless going from 5 to 6?

I had a registered version of LR5.
Upgraded to LR6 to read my D7200 raw files.

Upgraded for either $79 or $89 if I recall.

Downloaded initial install file for LR6, and then downloaded and saved to disc
all upgrades for ver 6.

Install process went well.

If you have a registered version of LR5 you may be able to upgrade.
Though it may be hard to find on their site as they want to sell subscription.

AFAIK, there is no discounted upgrade from Adobe for the stand alone LR6 anymore as Adobe does not sell the stand alone version...............

I'd move fast. Adobe still sells it but I will be surprised if it is there in 2019. It is one year since LR Classic CC was introduced. Same thing as PS when it went CC. Eventually it was pulled off the shelf.

FYI. December of 2017 was the last update for LR6. It is version 14. Any new cameras released in 2018 and on it will not open RAW files. You will have to convert to DNG.

Thanks everybody for the Links. When I did a search in Adobes website I was hitting a brick wall and that was using IE11 and Firefox.
