Great images submitted for this challenge.

texkam - no idea what this might be but I like the shades of green and the diagonal lines.

M_Six - great color and detail in this flower maccro. A closer focus would have made it even more abstract.

Benitoite - beautiful sunset/sunrise. Great color in that sky.

darkslinger - also no idea what this might be but I like the arcing focus in the center of the photo.

teekay - that bark has a lot of character and great detail. Great photo.

LTdave - great photo of the chapel at the Air Force Academy. It's a great structure and makes for a nic abstract image.

dilorenzo1954 -nice detailed image of a Chihuly glass sculpture. I like the nice rich honey tone of this image.

Cuypers1807 - I like the mimimalism here and the painterly effect in this image.

And the winners are:

1st Place -- darkslinger, no idea what it is but I like those metalic arcs. Please let me/us know what that is.

2nd Place -- texkam with those green diagonal stripes.

3rd Place -- dilorenzo1954 with the honey colored Chihuly glass.

Thank you all for your submissions. Over to you darkslinger to host the next chalenge.

Congrats darkslinger! Well deserved.
Old Crow, Thanks for the kind words. Rather than paint, what you are seeing is one of my darkroom sinks I use for wet plate collodion. It is getting quite interesting and shiny from some silver slowly depositing on it over the years.
