Just installed 1.2 on my R. With the 100-400 mounted, Eye AF works great in Servo. Very cool update!

I've been using a Sandisk Extreme Pro 95 mb/s SDXC 1, V30 128gb card from the start and it does everything very smoothly… 4K, 1080, even C-log 8 bit has no issue.
I do have a Lexar SDXC II but the extra cash did nothing for the camera or me..

Some will tell you they get one or two extra images before they hit the buffer… that's around 47 / 48 images… personally I rarely hold it down that long… can't remember the last time actually.

I’ve had zero delay’s with the UHS-I... Including 8 bit C-log. Stills of course is the same. At a measly 5 frames a second there is no problem. I can’t see a difference using UHS-I or II..

Really cause in my class for the EOS R a few people was saying they were experiencing delays in shooting stills, I was the only one using UHSII and I didn't have any delays.

Maybe they were shooting RAW + JPEG?

Went snooping around back alley's with the 17-40L today.

No we were all shooting in the same mode, here is what I have noticed when I was using
95MB/s memory card the shutter had a unique sound to it, like a mechanical sound to it, I posted that when I first
got the EOS R camera. But when I switched to the 300MB/s it sounds so much smoother and responds much faster when
pushing the shutter button.

For the first few weeks of owning the R I shot Raw + Jpeg. It makes no difference to the camera. Even on long bursts. I never found the end of the buffer

Interesting… I would think the card speed made no difference…. I mean the buffer is the buffer. Not sure how it would
affect the shutter sound or smoothness.

And 4k and C-log are the most demanding on the card as I know it. My preference is 1080 ALL-I.. 4K can eat a 128g card is just a few short minutes

But remember the camera has 30 megapixels so when that many megapixels you have to times that each time it writes to the buffers one will slow down. Like a SSD drive vs a Sata drive.
