MKIV stayed home for baseball yesterday. Pretty happy with the R for baseball, except for draining the battery before the game ended :) Battery level was at 74% when I showed up.

Does someone have a 100 f2.8 USM macro they could test with the R.

Mine refuses to AF consistently. Sometimes it won’t even attempt to focus.

Works fine with 5d4 though

Hi guys used the for the first time out the box in m mode as usual tested my lenses awesome colors way better than my a7 II and my old 7d
My only concern is that testing it on my 70-200 it’s started having this wired banding on the evf and lcd not in pic. And suddenly rebooted. Don’t know what happened. Happen once anyone has the same issue. Return it and get another copy?

Gear list: 7d, 50d, xti, EOS 66 film, Canon FTB,sigma 18-35 1.8 art len, EF 24-105L, 70-200f4. Manfrotto 190xpro, sirui g20x. BR metro.

Mine has been 100% flawless on my 70-200/2.8 IS G1. Admittedly, I haven't had a chance to play with it since I upgraded from 1.00 to 1.2 FW (I skipped the middle one altogether.).

My 100mm has a focus issue that is from the lens not the camera. It hunts violently on all my DSLRs (550d, 5d2 and 5d3) and the mirrorless as well. This happens most of the time so i tend to use it manual and with the EOS R its a lot easier to confirm focus due the focus peaking and the triple triangle focus lock confirm (not sure the correct name for it). If the 100mm has a problem with the R i simply cannot say since mine is a universal problem. Once in a while i set the lens to AF and it works fine on all cameras. I need to get it looked at..

My 100mm f/2.8 USM macro works fine with my EOS R, just as it did with my 60D, 7D, and 7D II.

On vacation in Hawaii and these guys entertained us for about 35min chasing each other around and through the hedge. Seemed to be a bit camera shy though, as soon as I picked it up they would run for cover.

Great pics! Curious what setting you were using for focusing? One shot, servo? Using small point with the new firmware update? Thanks!
