Same here prime80. I also got $50 off the 35mm RF lens, free EF adapter, two 64gb cards and a camera bag. I gotta wait until Fri though since I won't be home to sign for it. Gotta love Amazon's Prime Day option. :-P

Welcome to the abused R club. ;-)a

This last one is ruined; why didn't you raise the shadows five stops to rescue it?

Sure could Lonely Boy.. But the green of the foliage takes away from the blue water and sky. Although… Who am I to say. I like it if you desaturate the green a bunch.

Lol it sure feels that way sometimes does it not.. ?? The people of the world are so fickle. It is the most hated camera by those who have never tried it lol

The deer around here have moved on for the summer.. I won't see much of them again till the first snow. To bad to.. Most were carrying fawns.

To be clear, I like it as-is. It's a great example of how powerful actual contrast and shadows can be.

Hey fellow EOS R photogs :)

I am still getting used to this camera. I managed to get a day off today that was overcast with gray skies before the breeze came in, so I mounted first the 50mm f/1.4 USM which I barely use due to its fragility then decided I was not close enough, so shoved my generic kenko(?) 12mm extension tube, opened the lens up to about f/1.8 ish and walked around out back. Now, I did notice I opted to just hold the camera away from my face and use the LCD to compose and focus and check exposure. I found this slightly easier then the electronic view finder (probably because of no harsh glare). Also did not want to click anything or move my view point (can touch to move AF box be disabled?) I like to focus and recompose (probably not the best idea with being this close with extension tube, handheld and pretty wide aperture). Also realized the lens has some halation, which could be useful at times. I think this is why most of my shots this morning where pretty much dust-binned.

I also after a few shots and when I mounted the extension tube, tried to use servo AF. I think I just realized while out taking photos the AF box will turn blue when focus is achieved instead of red?

Anyway, here are a couple attempts this morning trying to be creative and slightly artistic.

Just to show what is possible...

my original post was pretty close to SOOC, I wanted the sky, the silhouette, and just a little detail of the foreground.

Same RAW file, this is +2.5 exposure, +50 shadow, -40 highlight, -25 contrast in Photoshop. Lava starting to get a bit noisy, but only if you look for it, as I think the texture hides it somewhat.

I was able to drag your image this morning onto the desktop and get the same result Wayne. cool shot. I do tend to edit some images in two different directions because as you can see… They both work.

Thanks, means a lot coming from you.

I am very impressed with the R and how much you can manipulate the files. If you know what result you want, as long as you can get close with the original you can make it work. Very flexible in my opinion.

We have these in Puerto Rico known by the locals as "Ardillas" (Squirrels). But there are no squirrels in PR and are actually Mangostas (Mongoose). I crossed paths with one of them when i was young and they are vicious as all hell.

At least that's what they look like
