Finally got a chance to use the R for a real photo session today. Used Face detect focus with no issues whatsoever. Loved being able to set my ambient exposure in the view finder, then turning on the flash.

Let me help you out, I had the same problem with mine, for some reason it is a little funky, you might have to plug and unplug a few time before the light will light up.

-

I think it's the USB jack on the battery grip. If I remove the battery grip and put a battery in the camera and plug in the power adapter the top LCD screen says "FULL" so it looks like it's trying to charge the battery.

The USB jack on the camera body is solid but the USB jack on the battery grip has a little play in it.

The eBay seller offers returns within 30 days so I'll send it back and I've already purchased a replacement battery grip, new instead of used this time!

Playin' around with the 50 1.8 STM. Nice and light, even with the adapter which makes for a great/casual walk around setup.

Nothing fancy, just playin' around. FF, no crop. :)

I feel like I'm being watched.

This little punk will attack. I used to walk by him sitting on a piece of furniture and he would jump on my back! Thankfully he has no claws front or back.

I'm thinking f/14 of f/16 and focus about twice as far as the bench.

This is on one of the paddling trails in Caddo Lake on the Texas side. People put signs on some trees for their dearly departed family members. I have no idea what this one is about. Maybe pirates have taken over the lake!
