I feel like I am the only one who bought this camera and everyone is pointing at me laughing LMAO.. I am hoping for good weather this weekend to try some portraits in the Autumn leaves .. I want to see how the 135mm L does and my godox gear which i have not updated as it works perfect with my wedding gear as of now.. I'll share some results when I have them :)

I'd be all over it, alas I'm forced to purchase old equipment like the 1dmkiii well after their prime. So I'm thinking I'll have the R in another 7 to 8 years. It sucks not having disposable income.

Tested with:
Canon worked flawlessly on everything,
50/1.2
300/2.8 +2x tciii ridiculously fast and accurate
24L ii
70-200 2.8 ii
Sigma had some issues with exposure on 35/1.4 art
Seemed fine with 18-35/1.8 art in crop mode
Tamron 150-600 had a heart attack, I'll let our canon rep know about it and update but as of now I wouldn't put another tamron on the R until a firmware update or maybe the g2 lineup

For those of you who have bought it, do you plan to get the RF 35mm f/1.8?

No, I shoot the 24L now and I think I'll stick with it until they release a fast 24 rf mount.

Some more snappies as i am playing with it and getting used to it..

Oh and i used the Godox V860II flash in manual on the pics of my bud.. i have not tried ETTL but i dont even use that feature on any of my flashes. I do need to try HSS but everything is working good, very happy about that

I have more to test.. These will come as I get more and more in to it but the list is as follows

Canon EF-S 18-55mm (done)
Canon 50mm f1.2L (done)
Samyang 8mm fisheye
Canon 135mm L (done)
Canon 100mm macro
Canon 70-200mm F4L non IS
Canon 70-200mm f2.8IIL
Canon 24-70mm L
Tokina 11-16mm (I think I'm trying this one next at the pond in a few hrs)

There are also a few vintage lenses I have the M42 mount and I'd like to check out the focus peaking feature

From my quick tests the 70-200 and 11-16 both perform well. If you have different results let us know, I can do a more in depth test if needed

I'd be interested to know if the Tokina 11-16mm is restricted to crop mode or if that's strictly only with Canon EF-S mount lenses. At 16mm it should produce a full frame image circle.

No this lens is not restricted.. you can use it in FF or x1.6

Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 (IF) DX

As expected on FF

IMAGE: http://i63.tinypic.com/2i8w5qx.jpg

and on crop

IMAGE: http://i68.tinypic.com/2wqzlsl.jpg
but corners on crop have a really funky stretch that i was not getting on the 550d
i also never tried this lens of my 5d2 or 5d3

Still looks pretty good though. I pulled the trigger on the R today, and I'm looking forward to using the 11-16 again.

Thanks for testing and posting!

oh no, definitely it does I was just ponting that small defect as I did not get it in my 550D and it can be easily cropped in post.. I'm going for the Samyang 8mm fisheye next to test

That is lens distortion I think. I presume that the eos r in crop mode is actually creating a slightly wider view than a true apsc perhaps? If so, then more of the lens is being used that on an apsc.
