The more I play with this camera the more amazing it gets, so many short cuts and ways of making it work, buy annoying you can't adjust ISO via the Q menu, I find that really odd. That said you can directly access it from the touch screen, still seems odd.

What's noticeable is that I wasn't keen to replace the DSLR as I was worried this would feel too small, feel too much like I'm programming a P&S, and in less that a day, the DSLR now feels clunky, archaic, old fashioned, lumpy, basic, awkward, and a mirror, what's that all about! It's like driving a 20yr old car compared to a modern one......

And for me the biggy, not one shot OOF so far, it's nailed every....single....one, in bad light too, there's no way my DSLR would have done that. And I hated that, thousands of pounds worth of kit and the pics were OOF, just used to wind me up no end, weekends MFAing the lenses, printing out targets etc, no more!!!! I still miss the focus snapping in via an optical VF, that reassurance it's in focus ( in theory!! ), I just need to trust the Electronic VF more, and it's been 100% so far........

Yeah, I'm taking snaps like the one below that would have been a bit of a mission on the 5D mk III, so that speaks for itself I suppose, I'm taking more photo's, more technical photo's, they're easier to take, and every one is a keeper so far. I need much bigger hard drives......

Well, your experience so far seems to mirror (maybe not the right word lol) my own. I'm even considering ditching my 7Dii as well as the 6D. I'll give it a while yet but I'm loving the keeper rate.

A couple quickies from an after-lunch stroll.. I'm still learning and LOVING my R and RF24-105.. Have decided that since the RF15-30 is new-new-new and a 2.8, it'll be too expensive for me, so just bought a used EF16-35/F4/L/IS.. I also have a new Canon EF70-300/4-5.6/IS/Mk.II on the way.. IF IF IF the new RF24-240/F4-6.3 is good enough, I'll sell the RF24-105 and EF70-300.

I'm trying to loosen up with my gear. Does anyone leave dslrs in the car for long period of time? I'm always paranoid it's gonna melt or something.

I’d recommend leaving it out of the sun. And out of sight.
Only “issue” I’ve ever experienced is zoom on a sigma lens being stiff. But when it cooled down it was normal again

I guess I'll leave the camera home today lol. I don't understand why the new Rokinon rf 14mm 2.8 isn't autofocus like the new EF version . Why did they do that ?

With the RF 35 how far away were you from taking that shot?

Pretty much close to the minimum focus distance. I was in AI Servo Mode for the AF, which produces a Blue Square in the VF when in-focus and turns Red when OOF. I recall drifting in and out of focus range as the AF indicator cycled between Blue/Red.

Cheers

Dennis

Does Rokinon even make lenses with AF.

I guess I posted in the wrong thread. Haven't been here in a long while. Just looking to see if the RP is worth buying. I love my 5DIV and have all the lenses, but I bought the M100 and M50 for travel, and not been too impressed, but they are useful. Wondering if investing in the RP with the Canon lenses with adapter makes sense.
