why am i having such a hard time getting little kids walking/running towards me in focus? I recently tried servo zone and face tracking with back button focus. I have the shutter release as the priority (not focus--pretty sure focus is even worse). Any tips? These kids are coming towards me in a predictable line and it's not even that fast...!

If you don't reply when someone asks you a question right after you posted, your question can get lost. Although, your question would probably fit that other EOS R tech thread.

trying to decide on the rf 50mm and the rf 85mm. Anyone have experience using both of these?

cwall64 wrote in post #18961875 (external link)
I have them both, they are both great, but use the RF 50 much more. I have/had the EF version of both and they are great, but the RF ones are a step up...

Have both too, but use the RF85L more :)
Currently I am using it mostly as a candid (!) lens/camera combo with the EOS R, genrally in low(er) light situations, mostly at events. Works very well, actually. And the images are to die for :).

The RF50L I have been using more as a lens for wider shots at events, but in reality it is not really wide enough for great overviews, where I prefer 24L or even the Samyang 10 mm :). In the past I used the EF 50L for general photgraphy, small group portraits or full length portraits and landscapes, but haven't had the opportunity for those yet. :)

Kind regards, Wim

Tomorrow is the day. Hopefully my 70-200 ships. I saw CPW was still advertising first batch shipping, and I pre-ordered a couple weeks ago. Can’t wait to check this beast out. I should probably list my EF version to help pay for this thing...

Great question! You're right. Strange we haven't seen anything about that.

I still have my 100-400 and 2x III so I don’t need anything along side the RF 70-200. I got notice the shipping label was created for mine today, but it hasn’t been scanned yet.

I was excited to read about these adapters as I have an FD 50mm 3.5 macro that renders nicely on my 6d. It should be even better on the R with no glass in the adapter. I got the Gutto but when I attached it and the lens to the R the shutter won’t fire. The camera shows MF but no focus peaking indicators and no shutter release. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

I am sure extenders will come - but we're only now getting a lens that could benefit from one, no point announcing one before they can be used!
