I was very impressed with using this for the Bald Eagles. The more I use the more I like it. I used this more than my 1dx II on the trip.

Are you shooting bursts while panning? Curious how you find the R’s viewfinder performance in that situation.

I had my first outing with the R shooting continuous bursts and tracking, hunting my elusive sledding daughters . Tracking and shooting burst with a subject coming straight at me wasn’t bad, but once they stated moving horizontally, it was difficult to track. The viewfinder was just like a slide show of the photos that were being snapped off and I couldn't track where my subject was going. I would lose them completely from the frame. Focusing was great with subject in frame, but that was hard to do when they were moving side to side.

I’m sure this has been discussed elsewhere in this thread. I did a quick search and couldn’t find any definitive discussions. Curious about others experiences and work arounds or settings that could be adjusted to help.

Thanks!
Mario

Yes I pan while shooting burst. I do get some delay but the more I use the more I can deal with it. I find if you move with the subject even if you are not seeing it, that works well. If you can slight pause the subject also comes right back. I may due a burst of say 3 and pause pick up my subject and burst of 3 again. I only use the viewfinder when tracking, not live view.

I feel the same way

The tour guide told us Darth Vader was created based on this Samurai. A lot of the terms like Jedi, etc came from Samurai culture.

His helmet is different in the museum but perhaps they had different ones for different occasions. I can't say for sure but the guide said this was the fellow.

Shibuya crossing in Shibuya city. Largest pedestrian crossing in the world. On average about 2,500 people cross each time the light goes green. If things are off a bit I didn't do much editing.

Nothing wrong with a bit of rain - makes for nice reflective surfaces!

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Thanks for the tips. Good to hear it comes with practice. I was probably using it in a pretty demanding setting - kids sledding down the hill towards me and turning to pan once the got near the bottom of the hill and were much closer to me.

One thing that impressed me is how well it tracked focus at those speeds. I was using face detect for some of the shooting. Even when I was loosing them from the frame, it was still picking up focus on their face.

You can not use the R for BIF.

Now stop it!
