Guys! You gotta stop! I'm going to say it ONE MORE TIME!

You can not use the R for BIF.

Now stop it!

I heard a rumor that sometimes, you can accidentally make it work... but it can't be duplicated more than 7 or 8 times

Yes they were Matt

I live less than 2 hours away from the damn, we could have arranged a POTN meetup! I think MedicineMan mentioned going sometime soon, if he's not there today on Thanksgiving. Pretty blustery out though, would be tough shooting conditions.

He's making a joke.
Earlier in the thread, at least one person was explaining why the camera wasn't suitable for that kind of photography.

I am thinking of getting one to go along with the 7DII. ;-)a
7DII + 400DOII + 1.4TC and EOS-R + 400DOII + 2.0TC

You can also do this formula:

R + 400 + 2X + 1.4

You can also do this formula:

R + 400 + 2X + 1.4

I tried it with my 400mm f2.8 and could not get it to work. I did not give it much time but it seemed not to. I need an extension tube to stack mine. If I get a chance I will play with it again. I did get it to work with the 1dx II in live view mode only with decent results. I assume is something I did wrong as if it works with the 1dx, I assume I can get it to work with the R.

2x works fine on the R with the DO II. I have not tried flight with it yet.

I think you might just need to change the order of the adapters

I have ver II of both, and I can only physically stack them one way, and the R retains AF with both (barely) when used with the Sig 150-600 - shouldn't be an issue with an L 2.8

I agree, I had to change the order with the 1dx also. I do not use it much and forgot which order I had it in  I am older now ;-)a
