Firmware Version 1.6.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes:

1. Support for the RF85mm F1.2L USM DS lens has been added.
2. Corrects a phenomenon in which the function or setting value assigned to the control ring may change when the control ring is operated in Eco mode.
3. Corrects a phenomenon in which the camera may stop operating properly during "auto transfer" when using Camera Connect with a Wi-Fi connection.
4. Corrects a phenomenon in which high-speed synchronization with use of an external flash may not operate properly depending on the camera’s setting for C.Fn2 "Set shutter speed range".

Firmware (2.0.1) incorporates the following enhancement:

- Reduces color unevenness when capturing images using long (Bulb) exposure mode with the EOS Ra.

*Manual focus cannot be activated during exposure. And performing zoom operations during exposure, the subject may be out of focus.

Oh man, looks like I better get mine updated, was literally going to ask people about whether or not they use auto transfer, as I have apparently volunteered to assist with another Santa shoot in a couple of weeks (not nearly as many people as Feed 1000 a few years back).

I received mine today and have a question or two after turning it on and having a quick look around.

I don't have any RF lenses yet so am using the adapter. Battery grip is attached. Running 1.4 firmware.

1) Is it normal to have the IS running constantly? I attached my 70-200 f4 IS L and it won't shut off unless I hit 'menu', 'info' or flat out turn the camera off.

2) Is there a setting to turn off Live View unless the shutter button is pressed to initiate it? And set it to turn off again after a period of no activity? Live view is constantly on by default straight out of the box on mine (of course it switches to the EVF when put up to the eye but goes right back to live view when pulled away) and I'm guessing that contributes to the IS running issue. Neither of these can be good for the battery life...right? Not to mention wear on the IS system in the lens.

Still reading the manual but haven't come across anything yet to address these. My apologies if the answers are something obvious I'm missing.

Thank you,

Scott

Digital Paradise - nice series and I liked the travel tidbits too.

Here is another shot of the not-that-wild wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park today. I probably saw 40 or 50 of these today, a bunch were hanging around on the outskirts of Estes Park. Plus the stray elk here and there, and a flock of turkeys, 20 or so, standing around on the road (probably showing off that they made it through Thanksgiving), then they scooted away, those pictures were all blurred.

IS on all the time is normal when the camera is active. As you said there are ways to shut it of like hitting the info button, menu etc.

There is an ECO mode that will shut the screen down fairly quickly. With a half press of the shutter it is back on.

IS runs all the time, power settings in the yellow menu allows you to set the LCD to go off as you wish and then the IS goes off with it,I have mine set to 15 secs,as soon as you touch any button it comes on again along with the IS, hope this helps.
