Dec 07, 2019 01:40 | #6452 KurtB wrote in post #18971228 I need to stop coming back to POTN. Every 6-8 months or so I pop back in here to see what is going on and it ends up costing me more money. I just pulled the trigger on an EOS R and a "kit" RF 24-105 lens. I can't wait to get my hands on it and to put it through its paces.Lol,the best way to avoid spending money is to keep your nose out of magazines and don't visit user forums,if only life were that easy http://www.flickr.com/photos/70718847@N02/

digitalparadise Awaiting the title ferry... More info | Dec 07, 2019 05:31 | #6457 I worked in print media for over 30 years and we printed magazines and flyers. I watched the industry that employed many in our city slowly decline. My wife used to love getting her flyers and now she does everything online. Still pretty strong but will be a dinosaur one day. Can't remember the last time she bought one. The last magazine subscription I had was to Outdoor Photography Canada that went under. The plant I worked at printed it but I subscribed to support the industry. Image Editing OK

CScottIV I should keep some things to myself! More info | Dec 07, 2019 07:51 | #6462 h_scott_a wrote in post #18970773 I received mine today and have a question or two after turning it on and having a quick look around. I don't have any RF lenses yet so am using the adapter. Battery grip is attached. Running 1.4 firmware. 1) Is it normal to have the IS running constantly? I attached my 70-200 f4 IS L and it won't shut off unless I hit 'menu', 'info' or flat out turn the camera off. 2) Is there a setting to turn off Live View unless the shutter button is pressed to initiate it? And set it to turn off again after a period of no activity? Live view is constantly on by default straight out of the box on mine (of course it switches to the EVF when put up to the eye but goes right back to live view when pulled away) and I'm guessing that contributes to the IS running issue. Neither of these can be good for the battery life...right? Not to mention wear on the IS system in the lens. Still reading the manual but haven't come across anything yet to address these. My apologies if the answers are something obvious I'm missing. Thank you, Scott 1) Yes, but you can turn it of on the EF lens itself. Some have configured a button to put the LCD to sleep, thus stopping IS. I tried that but my thumb would touch the touch bar and wake it up. Charles
