Put up some new bird feeders after the squirrels managed to destroy the last ones.

Squirrels greatly approve of the new ones for two reasons. First they are bigger diameter so an easier stretch to the feeder from the post and even get onto the feeder. Second, they have a "pan" at the bottom for loose seed which makes it even easier to snatch seed instead of trying to get it from the feeding holes as well as a comfortable seat for the little jerks.

Have had as many as five of the furry little buggers out there at a time this morning. Looks like I will need to redo the post that hold the feeders to make it a little more difficult for them...

Here they put a sleeve of thin sheet metal around the poles or trees to stop possums climbing.
Needs to be higher than the longest leap from the ground and long enough to stop them climbing
Wonder if you could adapt that post?
But if they can climb on something and jump from other launchpads that wouldn't help either -?

With the feeders hanging from cable they really can't get enough "grip" to get to it from above. The other feeders were't as big around and hung far enough away from the post that they couldn't stretch over and reach.

I need to rework the post for a longer top/cross ice to set the new feeders farther away from the post. I don't really mind the squirrels, but the birds make enough mess spilling seed for them on the ground. When they get on the feeders, the birds can't get to it and they are voracious as they go through the sed.

A couple of quick shots from the beach yesterday. The AF is working better for me each time I use it. Still have a large learning curve but I am liking it so far. These are both cropped quite a bit but very little post processing needed. They looked great SOOC!!

Im sure those squirrels love that modern tree you built for them....they will go right up that thing. I used steel wrought iron and they went right up that......darn things cab climb just about anything.... Maybe find a way to electrify it so that if they touch any woking they get zapped....not sure how to help ya....I let my dogs chase them away...they love to chase the Squirrels

We had some very nice weather today for a change so I grabbed the camera and went outside. I even found some bugs which is unusual for this time of the year, so that was a pleasant surprise :-)
