Just set up C3 for your most-used video specs. When you stop recording, you're back in stills mode. I set up the multi-function (when in video mode) to “Switch to Custom Shooting Mode”- One button press lets you cycle through C1,2,3. If you're shooting 23.98, one press could be for slo-mo, for example. In the Menu you can select whatever AF area modes you want, and disable the others. I toggle between 4k24 CLOG, 1080 60 CLOG, and 4K24 standard. Will try to figure it out. I want to say the EF 24-105 f/4 is probably my go to lens, I do wish it was a bit wider on aperture, but most times I can work with the f/4. What I almost always crave is extra reach, just a little more without needing to switch up to the 70-200 f/2.8 (I probably shouldn't have bought... But that's another story). Enter the RF 24-240 f/4-6.3 is lens and it's sub 1k price tag. I imagine it'll get dim pretty quick on the long end, but has a good spread for zoom. Right now I could get the RF 24-105 f/4 "kit" for the same price, minus about 135mm of extra reach. The relatively slow f/4-6.3 aperture kind of gets me though of the more modestly priced "consumer version" It will however prevent an almost duplicate of the EF 24-105 kit lens I already have for the majority of my bodies. What's everyone's thoughts on the I guess I would call it the "super range zoom" for a probable every day walk around carry lens that is the RF 24-240? Even saving and going for the "RF Trinity" of is 2.8 which would blow a massive $7200+ hole in my wallet and caps me at 200mm at f/2.8. hell, even one of those pieces of glass is almost 3 times the amount of the super walk around lens? How bad is 6.3? I have a sigma 150-600 and when the lighting goes slightly bad, I have to crank the iso up and it's very difficult to work with the lens in general let alone at higher zoom ranges. I really like the RF 24-240 as a walk around lens but I don't need it to be fast for landscape. That said I have shot a couple local concerts and it did much better than expected. Charles

Dec 26, 2019 19:19 | #6712 I did a bit of "research" on the 24-240 as well as a few other things, I also checked out the thread and while there was good images posted in said thread, there are other things that irk me about the lens, mostly from a me standpoint.

I also looked at other RF lenses and looked at my current glass on hand, and while I have nothing OMG amazeballs I think I have a pretty solid selection of glass, probably too much I've collected over the years, but for the most part it's usable. Most current RF lenses are seriously expensive and would overlap what I already have on hand. I've opted to go in a slightly different direction, I really don't think I'm ready for this mirror less revolution that seems to be going on. I have both 18-55 and 55- 250 EFS STM lenses. I may sell them and pick the 24-240 as a basic travel walk around. Image Editing OK
