I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the info!

I did some more digging and digikam is supposed to be capable of focus stacking but it may require some kind of plugin which I can't find any information on. Might be bundled by default.

Also, you may be interested in a program called entangle for tethered shooting.

Disclaimer: I don't use digikam and only heard of entangle 15 minutes ago so your on your own. :-)

For myself I prefer to keep photography as a casual hobby that I enjoy and a lot of this sounds like too much work for me. Will keep you in mind if I see something else.

Rod

Not sure what programs are available for Mac for this type of stuff. I'm pretty sure windows (ack!) Has the lions share of programs many free. It's been a challenge finding Linux software as well, although I'm nowhere near a pro Linux user. Actually struggle with it quite a lot.

That's cool, love it. What stacking programs are available for Mac users?

Zerene Stacker is available for both Mac and Linux. It's not free, though.

So with time on my hands I wanted to do a painting and this is my study. Obiiously photoshopped but all the dog pics (probably 6 or 7 different shots) were taken with the EOS R. The BG plate is Belushi from the movie 1941. The painting will be 65"X84" ish. I think it's right up there with dogs playing cards.
