Am out on a very sunny day and EVF is very dark. Nearly can’t see what I’m shooting at. I found the brightness level for the screen, but is there anything similar for the EVF?

I tried to catch a few photos of my toddler on a swing while tracking and I was very unsuccessful. Having said that, I was using eye/face tracking and f 2. Probably a bit too much. The focus point seemed to jump from his face to the swing a lot. I’ll post photos later

I’ve had the same thought regarding the brightness level of the the EVF. It is almost as if I don’t want to trust the exposure that I’m seeing in the viewfinder because it always ends up brighter once on my iPad. My last few cameras were Olympus mirrorless so I’m comfortable with the electronic version compared to an optical, but the Olympus ones (em1ii, em10ii) were just so much brighter. I also haven’t find an adjustment anywhere so will be interested in seeing what others have to say about it.

It doesn't look like the manual says anything about EVF brightness like it does for display brightness. Would Exposure Simulation help? I have never noticed it unless my exposure settings were off.

You adjust the EVF brightness with the camera to your eye looking through it.

I think what you're trying to say is that if my exposure is correct, the image should be fine, but it was not the case. Expusure of the photo was fine, but sometimes the EVF was not bright enough to see properly through it. Increasing brightness on the LCD display worked very well. Maybe something like that should be available. Or maybe I'm the only one with this problem! :)

Not what I meant at all,the brightness of the EVF can be adjusted just like the screen but to do so the camera has to be to your eye, then the adjustment control is available from the menu. You have to adjust it while looking through the EVF.

Went on the first outing and brought the 135 with me. Couple of photos that I like. Still a learning curve, but the Wi-Fi capabilities look good, even though it disconnected a couple of times. Need to work more on the servo mode myself to improve the rate. Only 2/15 or so were ok on the swing. F2 has plenty to do with it, I think. As well, I think following a toddlers eye on a swing is not an easy feat.

Day 2 (again with the 135, I have to attach the EF 24-105 one of these days):

- EVF brightness improved. Thanks Crofter!
- Tracking MUCH improved (Most shots in servo and with eye/face tracking were spot on)
- One shot AF responsiveness/accuracy impressive. Nailed focus all the time.

All in all, falling for this camera quickly. Now it's time to study how to improve the button layout. What do you guys have configured on the little arrow pad?

And a landscape with the 135, because why not
