A severe nocturnal thunderstorm passed near by and put on a heck of a show! Not the best images and pretty bleh edits I did on the jpgs with my phone to get them out there.

Actually might pull these up on the computer and see what I can do. In the meantime, pretty excited, haven't caught many storms or actual photos with the R lately.

Nice captures!

One thing about the phone cameras, they're (almost) always with you and can be brought to action quickly. Unless you are somewhat of a phone camera geek, most of us just point and shoot. That will always be an advantage over our complex cameras and related gear. As phone cameras continue to improve, the motivation for DSLR and similar systems will slowly (quickly??) drop.

RF lens not EF

Laney and Deanna got dolled up and came out to model for me in the Viper's Bugloss. Was a nice evening.

Preparing the surprise for tomorrow’s birthday. Camera on a tripod ready to record video. Hopefully it’ll go smooth!

He was eyeing my backpack, that wasn't going to happen. (one of the last shots with my dear departed R. Off to the factory tomorrow, it really screwed itself up)

A few from a walk in the woods, I'm still so impressed with how well EF lenses work on the R.

Somehow it got locked into always thinking it was in portrait orientation, so when I take a photo in landscape, it gets rotated to portrait, sideways that is. Initially the icons and histogram in the EVF were also sideways, but I got that straightened out. Also, the level indicator is now vertical instead of horizontal. Tried all the usual things, nothing helped. Obviously there is a work around (mostly) to the files being rotated, but that level thing should work, so off to Canon this morning.

I tried using the Kenko extension tubes on the 100-400. It worked better than I thought it would. It was shot at 11AM so the lighting was very harsh so not bad over all.
