Hopefully you guys aren't getting sick of me already. I've been enjoying my R a lot so far. I took these yesterday. Oh and I really like the RF 24-105mm F4 L lens. Such a great performer.

I got this note from B&H today.

Canon has released a new software update for the EOS R Mirrorless Digital Camera. Firmware version 1.7.0 adds support for two new RF lenses: the RF 600mm f/11 STM and 800mm f/11 STM lenses. In addition to enhanced lens support, the new firmware also adds support for the new Extender RF 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, as well as the Canon LP-E6NH Battery Pack. No bugs were addressed with this update. However, according to Canon, using the EOS R’s multifunction bar for playback has been improved.

You can get the firmware from Canon's Canadian web site.

I installed the update a couple of weeks ago, and there's a noticeable improvement in the multi-function bar for playback. There are also lens firmware updates to add compatibility with IBIS on the R5/R6.

Thanks! The MP-E is a lot of fun. A bit tricky to use, but focus peaking on the R makes it much easier to use than on a DSLR.

The R fits my landscape and concert needs nicely. The 80D fits my wildlife needs nicely. No plans to upgrade.

I am of a similar mind -- in my case, it's the R and the 7D2, plus a M50 for light weight travel. What I would really like is for Canon to introduce an RF equivalent to the EF 16-35mm F/4 IS so I do not need to use the EF to RF adapter for my wide angle shooting.

Thank you very much! The wasp was a bit dazed, for some reason, so I managed to take a couple of shots before it disappeared. Just got really lucky with the fly.
