I like my R. It's paid for.

I like mine too. I would like the improved tracking and FPS of the R5 but it's difficult to justify the cost when the R is so good to start with.

Unfortunately you can smell the smoke from the fires...

Still editing the jpegs with my phone. Just minor adjustments to curves saturation brightness etc. Was hard to get a representative image that matches the eye.

It’s hard to capture how surreal things look near or under a smoke plume. I took a run up to RMNP last night for some Milky Way images. I ended up with more from the glow of the Cameron Fire. The smoke plume from the fire down in Grand County plus the haze settling in from the Cameron fire mushed out the bottom of the core. There was ash floatng in the air when I was stopped just east of the Alpine Visitor Center.

Thanks for the info. Were you stopped by Park Rangers or stopped to take pictures?

Hopefully they can manage this enough to prevent loss of life and structures. We have a trip planned to RMNP so we are watching this very closely. They are doing a very good job of communicating with the public.
