NickR Senior Member More info Post edited over 2 years ago by NickR. (4 edits in all) | Nov 24, 2020 09:49 | #8467 First few photos taken with my newly purchased EOS R and Sigma 100-400. Quite pleased with images but AF and Burst mode is not in the same league as my 7D MKII but I expected that. Shot through a kitchen window, light not bad. Nov 26, 2020 14:03 | #8471 Nothing too special, just full disc "white light" view of the sun with my R through a refractor telescope. I think I just missed focus and the rippling atmosphere didn't help nor did the shaky tripod in the wind. Editing, not much, just converted the raw file to a 16bit tiff in DPP after a contrast boost. Mostly just testing my work around solution. Image hosted by forum (1075073) © wxjef [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

Nov 27, 2020 09:08 | #8474 So a question from someone considering a FF, probably mirrorless. I understand that when you mount a EF-S lens via adapter, it automatically gives you the 1.6x crop. If you have a EF lens mounted, can you choose a 1.6x crop if you needed a bit more reach (I understand that you would lose MP doing that)?

Nov 27, 2020 10:07 | #8475 Yes, you always lose MP by using the crop modes.
