My in-laws retired to Steuben on Dyers Bay about 20 years ago. Some of the most beautiful photographs I have ever taken were at Acadia and Frenchman's Bay. Beautiful captures. Can't wait to take my R and R6 back up there this fall.

Forgot my 80D and 1.4x III at home so I had to make do with the R and the 2X III! AF was fine at f/11 for swimming birds. Birds in flight at f/11 are another story, at least at my experience level.

A friend of mine posted a snapshot taken from a boat of this picnic table in the water. I knew I had to get to the lake and take some shots of it.

Used a 10-stop and 6-stop to get 30 second exposures.

Dungeon Master

When Harry’s mom and I started talking about his senior photos, she asked me to incorporate Dungeons & Dragons into a photo so I asked them to bring a playing board and some dice. I set up my lighting after his cap & gown photos and with fishing line I tied to an overhead boom, I then used poster putty to attach 5 dice pieces and swing them back and forth. Then I changed the lighting to overhead and shot the dice movement again, all while Harry just held out his hand in a throwing gesture.

With 41 photos to work with, I first chose the main photo for his expression (second photo) and made my adjustments in Lightroom. After an export into Photoshop, I then spent the time finding 5 good photos of the dice to work with, so with the background and main photo, that put me at 7 photos used, in 21 layers.
