Couldn't sleep last night and was up around 4:45am this morning. Looked out my window and decided to grab my gear and run up to my roof. Might as well do something right?! :-)

This painting of Moraine Park was painted by Dorothy Carnine Scott in 1956. It was given to my grandfather in 1957. After he passed it hung in our house and now mine. So I have enjoyed Moraine Park through her painting most of my life.

Last year a relative posted a picture of another of Dorothy's paintings in front of its scene and it inspired me to do the same. This is two images poorly focus stacked. Tall grasses are really hard to stack for a novice like me!

A very interesting comparison between what the eye sees and what the camera records.:-)

Nice shot.

Cheers

Yes, there is a bit of creative license involved. I tried for hours but could never get things to line up exactly the way she painted them. It was still a fun project.

Thanks, Dennis.

Here are some of my photos from the Ocean City Air Show in June. I decided to use only my EOS R and left the 7DII in the trunk.

I sold my 60D in 2015 and I thought I was out of photography for the rest of my days. Well, life said "not so fast." Last week I got my first mirrorless, the EOS R. It might be 3 year old tech, but coming from a 60D it's darn impressive, even in 2021.

I paired it with the Canon 24-105 F4 L, my first L lens. I'm just getting going with this, and really enjoying it so far.
