You go in waders or are you on a kayak or something?

Mostly hip waders for this location at Lake O' the Pines. I have taken the kayak here and to a nearby island.

Just another IR Sunday . . . . .

Full spectrum modified EOS R, shooting with a 590NM filter. In and around Cocoa Village in Florida . . .

None of those large reptiles someone from the north who doesn't know anything, like me, would worry about?

I had the feeling this duck was taking a cat nap when I walked up. Didn't react when I first got there. Eventually got moving when a couple of duck buddies swam over.

Haven't seen any alligators at that part of Lake O' the Pines in the 11 years I have been going there. There probably are some in the more secluded areas.

There are alligators at Caddo Lake but you have to go find them. Haven't seen any there either but have seen where they make ruts getting in and out of the water.

I'd worry about them finding me :-)

From what I understand, they aren't interested in us unless we invade their space.

Summit Lake, 12,800'. Road to the top of Mt. Evans is closed at this point, won't reopen until Memorial Day weekend. Plus the view down the valley from Summit Lake.

Thank you. No road also means no me, I'm not about to hike up the mountain at 13,000'. Pretty short season, the road to the top was open from a week or two into June until Labor Day. The lower section has another 4 weeks or so on the end of that period.

These limited opportunities make visiting these places that more special I believe. Great you got a chance to get up there before they shut it down. Nice shots!

Ha. I did go through a peak bagging phase, but aged out of it, now it's just light hikes for photos. The elevation adds a degree of difficulty to everything.
