The longer I have the R, the more I love it. I love the multifunction bar which so many hate - I use it to change focus areas on the fly. It also does very well in difficult conditions, low light and backlit. Never understood the hate it got. Of course there are better cameras out there, but I've reached the point where my gear lust has dissipated, this camera does everything I want.

Beautiful, I especially like the last one. The roses look so translucent.

I liked the idea of the multifunction bar, unfortunately it was right where my thumb seemed to land, so I'd be inadvertently changing settings, I ended up disabling it. I'm also happy with the camera overall. Very good for what I do - landscapes. I could see if you were a bird person you would want to jump up to the R5, but I don't need the faster frame rate or higher resolution.

Yeah, the R is the perfect resolution for me, not eating up HD space but still lots of detail. I try to get fairly close to my subjects for the most part anyway.

I have smallish hands, (short female here) so I guess the ergonomic comfort does depend on our own body dimensions. I'm kind of surprised that the smaller form factor in so many of the higher-end cameras are received so well considering that most of the male population would have larger hands. I would have thought cramping might be an issue there.

The only feature I might like to have with on the R is the pre-capture, but other than that, I don't need super fast frame rates, too many images to cull.
