Yes, they mainly feed on small mammals so have become urbanised with the increase of mice around human settlements,

BRRRR note to self, try to avoid surburban Perth. Will stick to my Western suburbs of Sydney and resident red backs! ;-)a

Saw the biggest basilisk I've seen locally this afternoon, about 2 feet from nose to tip of tail. At a local natural area after work. This guy was a monster. I see these all the time locally but they are usually small. Not thie big boy. These are an invasive species from Central America. Of course we have them in Florida, we have everything.

Last Friday, 24th July 2020.
The summit of Little Adam's Peak, Sri Lanka.
I think I was shooting a Changeable Lizard (Calotes versicolor) but will very happily correct this post if not; reptiles are not my usual subject-matter.

18th July, 2020.
Another little fella, this time shot at the top of Sigiriya (Lion's Rock), Sri Lanka with my G1X mk III because it was too hot and sticky to contemplate lugging anything more up the steep climb! Less consequent control of bokeh but still rewarding captures.

Came across this guy off trail in Toohey Forest today, just gliding along the forest floor. I estimated this Carpet Python was close to 2 metres long (6Ft +) and we stopped each other in our tracks with the surprise of the sudden encounter.:-)

The Carpet Python lives in open forests, rainforests, coastal heaths, rural lands, park lands and suburban gardens and feeds on frogs, lizards, birds, mammals. The python is non-venomous, but tetanus protection is recommended following bites.

It was a thrilling encounter, for me at least.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

One of our resident house skinks
This fella appeared in the kitchen so I picked it up and it rested in my hand for about 5 minutes when I decided that was long enough to be nursed so I put it down and it went and lay in front of the fire!
I took a quick phone snap then decided to try a handheld shot.
No other lighting available so as is.

I reckon I would have too. In fact in Tassie in this cold snap I'd have been trying to climb into the box!

BTW it got down to 14.6C here this morning. Bit of a shock to the system!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
