Thanks!

Yes. Banded water snake is what they are called here in southeastern Louisiana. The item next to its head is actually a twig from a mostly submerged fallen branch in a swamp. It was a challenge to lessen the intrusion of that twig into the photo by leaning far to my right over water. This also gave better light and color.

American Alligator. They are quite common here now. They have made an amazing recovery in my lifetime. As a child, we rarely saw them and then it was from a far distance.

Anyone need some Gator aid? (I'll let myself out )
I took this shot at Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, FL. It's an excellent park with 35k acres to roam with lots of trails. They call it, "The Real Florida".

In your first picture, is that a snake?? Also what is it (if you know) what is the animal with the feelers (?) around the neck of the snake? Is the other animal hoping for a meal of the snake?

The second picture, again I do not know if it is a crock or a gator, but wonderful picture there also!

Yes, I'm curious to know, also.

Nice images but a little NR wouldn't hurt them.

it's very easy to distinguish between an alligator a crocodile. one you see later and the other in a while.

First time in history, they are not rocks anymore.

Yes, but not all the way to the right.
