Here is a pic of my late best friend with one of the many turtles she found for me. Whenever we were down at the cabin “Frogwarts”, on the shore of a slow moving creek, she was free to run around and explore. Besides tennis balls, turtles was her speciality.
Whenever the turtles came ashore to lay their eggs, I would hear her out baying them, so I would have to go out to retrieve her so they could finish their business.
I think this may be a River Cooter, but maybe Red eared Slider.

I know the next shot is an amphibian rather than a reptile, but it reminds me of Sass. We were packed and headed for home one Monday morning. I stopped the truck at the end of the driveway to leave the trash in the can out by the road. Well, I heard this frog singing just out in the woods, so grabbed my camera and took this shot of a Green Treefrog, on a Sassafras sappling by the way.
When I got back in the truck, I found the foil that had been wrapped around a nice big chunk of grilled salmon that I was planning to have for lunch, which I always enjoyed sharing with her.
When I saw that she had hogged it all, I scolded her in a very hurtful way! While she knew she had done wrong, she didn’t seem too remorseful and I only had myself to blame for leaving her with easy access for too long. So while I like this shot, it’s kind of bitter sweet, and dang , I miss her companionship.

This picture says it all. You had a beautiful friend. I know the feeling of "late best friend." It never gets easier. You still have all those memories and photos to enjoy.

Our late chocolate lab used to look on them as crusty pies and just could not work out how they could just walk away

They are so lovely aren't they.

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks regarding Sassy. Dog lovers know there is a price for loving these short lived friends.

Y’all may need to tell me to just stop, if I over saturate this thread with too many wet Anole lizards. They are pretty photogenic, and I regularly find them when I’m out, and can’t help but taking a few snaps!

These are just as I find them. The first is on Greenbriar.

And the second is on Blackberry.

Does anyone know what insect this is?

It has two small front teeth

IMAGE: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52688117941_4c0c40deb9_h.jpg

two eyes with vertical line

IMAGE: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52688392499_d6d29aa959_h.jpg

But I can not find wings. Shouldn't a insect have wings?

Cool shots/work. I think it's a Velocersnapper.

Here is one of my favorite Anole lizard shots of mine. I like how I found it was all stretched out across those leaves, sleeping and covered with dew.

Great shots of hunting life in a river.
I noticed the herons/egrets like to stay around the cold blooded beasts even it's not the safest place for the day.
My guess is that they may have more chances to catch the fish running away from the monster.

Haha, thanks for identification.

It explains well why my hands and legs were shaky and my body were sweating at the moment.
