This was a massive fire tonight. The place was a major bakery in the Albany area. It was completly gutted. Five cities in the area responded. The white lens (70-200) allowed me to get acrossed the police line to shoot. I was about 25 yards away.

Very Well Done. The 3rd one is my favorite. Available light at a night time fire is the best way to go in my opinion.

No one was hurt. The business was 60 years old, and was a very popular bakery in the area. The fire started in a dough machine while the place was full of people. Everyone got out safe. It really was going full bore for quite awhile.

Nice PJ work. Too bad about the bakery, but it's good that no one was hurt.

Nice shots, This fire knocked out my cable like the attached article states it did. I was on this very web site when I suddenly had no connectivity. I would also have to say I was quite shocked to see pictures of this on here.

I live in Guiderland, so it wasn't much of a hike to Cohoes. My mother inlaw lives in East Greenbush and lost hers as well. As far as I heard they have started rebuilding again on the same location. Great for them.:D

An excellent series of opportunist photographs. It shows the benefit of always having a camera handy and the expertese to make such good use of it.

Canon 600D, 40D, 350D + 50mm 1.8, Sigma 18-200is, 70-200 2.8DG and 70-300. Still have A1 and 300 EOS and must get out my Rollei TLR sometime

I work at a school in Troy (way south, almost north greenbush. Our cable (we use cable internet) was out into the next day because of damaged caused by this fire (so saith the cable company).

Sad to see an old, local business come to its demise, but great job capturing it.
