Neither of these programs will work to get a shutter count on my 5dMKII.

The first one (I did get the one for Macs) crashes every time. A message had popped up that it was not optimized for my computer and needed to be updated, but I thought it might work anyway--unfortunately, it didn't. (Yes, javascript is enabled.)
The second one is only for Windows. I only have Macs.

Can anyone here suggest a program that will work? I don't want to just start downloading random programs from the internet.

I think the 5D2 may be in the same group (digic number) as the 1D3 which can not be counted with these apps. I know with the 1D3 it was not possible.

Thanks to forum member Calsar, I now have one that works fine:

https://www.direstudio.com/shuttercount/ (external link)

It costs $3.99 in the Mac Apps Store, but it works great and can be used more than once (and keeps a log for you). Personally I think it is worth the price.

So...problem solved! :-)
