Golden Tailed Spiny Ant

These Golden Tailed Spiny Ants were found on a recent trip away to Jurien Bay (Western Australia)
They had a nest in the sand dunes among the succulents

Its hard to tell from the photos, but they look rather large for an ant.

They are about 10mm long, not big around here when we get bull ants upto 30mm long ;)
