Hello,

I am an used of 1D / 1Ds series bodies for quite a bit now, and while i love them it's not the best gear for street photography for many reasons.

I had an original X100 some time ago and it was a good camera with it's flaws, my fiance has XT-20 and i can't stand it, but there are 18/2 and 35/1.4 lenses in the house. I want something cheap and compact, a camera which i can grab and go daily and make some nice photos for web and maybe some prints.

Here's my list:
- X100
- X100s
- XPRO-1
- Fuji X70/Ricoh GR

For now i'm mostly into original XPRO-1@18/2 and Ricoh, but a good 35mm camera is tempting.

X100s' autofocus is more like X100 classic or X100T? First one was quite rubbish, second one works fine. What about Xpro-1?

What are your opinions about these cameras?

An X-E2 or X-E2s (basically the same camera) will make a really nice compromise especially with the 18 and 35mm lenses.

I wouldn't recommend the X100 or the X-Pro1 unless you REALLY know what you're getting into with all the quirks and slowness of the old bodies. The X100S is okay, but the newer versions are so much better it's hard to justify.

So: my recommendation is an X-E2 with the lenses you already have.

X100 was built for street, the second is much better than the original one. Mind you if you like using different focal lengths the X-PRO1 is a bargain of a camera. Many Kaizen firmware updates later the camera is quite sorted, more then good enough for the street. The 18/2 is one of my all time favourite lenses for day to day shooting and the 35/1.4 is magical. The X100s if you can get one at a good price would be my choice, the leaf shutter and the built-in ND filter, let alone the tiny size make it a great in the pocket street camera.

This.

X-E2 has very competent AF compared to the first gen Fuji cameras and it's very compact (roughly the same size as the X100 with the 18mm on it).

The trade off for the x100’s are obviously you can’t the great glass that you own but those are amazing street cameras. As Kim pointed out the leaf shutter and ND filters are awesome.

The X/pro 1 is the best bang for your buck but the comprise is it’s the largest on your list. This is not a deal breaker but it really depends on how compact you want to go.

The X70 is a great little camera but the trade off is no viewfinder and the fixed focal length. You can use the digital zoom feature that isn’t bad and can work in a pinch but when the light gets low the X70 slows down quite a bit for grabbing focus.

I'm late to this thread, but I'll third the suggestion of an X-E2. It's small but still has a nice grip to it.
