I like the burger, beer bottle opened and chilled will look better and need to control lighting so it is on the edge of the bottle.

^^^ what he said about the beer bottle :)

BTW, I've had that beer in when I was visiting Schafhaussen. Nice Pisner!

Ah, now I wish that I had sprayed the bottle down to achieve that chilled look :D

Schaffhausen is in Switzerland, right? I didn't know that they sell this brand internationally.

Constructive criticism and editing always welcome.

My very first homemade pizza. Basil is looking a bit dead, should not have added it before baking

Yes, it's in Switzerland but right on the border with Germany and it has a small pocket within that belongs to Germany. Büssingen am Hochrhein.

Yes, best to put garnish on after baking. A wedge of the pizza would have been nice, too, similar to this shot. And I'd make it really as round as possible next time :)

That looks super tasty!! On second look, the angles almost make it look like pacman eating the wedge :D

Thanks and heck, you're right about that guy eating the wedge....totally unintended, though.

As mentioned in another post. Basil goes on before baking. If the bake time is relatively fast it doesn’t burn. I have a wood fired oven and my bake times are 90 seconds for a Margherita at 800f. On a home oven with lower temps say 500 your bake time will be longer obviously so maybe put basil on 3/4 into the bake time.

I had some blue spray paint laying around and made a super simple backdrop, because I could not take any more images with a white background... Found this recipe for a lemon spicy carbonara and thought that the colours might go well together. According to the colour wheel blue, yellow and red should form a triangle and I have no idea whether that's good or bad :D Also red and green have nice contrast.

I like my lasagne a bit darker than most, but I realise now that it looks almost burnt here. Tasted great, but next time I'll take the picture earlier and bake a couple more minutes just before dinner time.

I watched a lot of videos about food photography recently and a reoccurring topic were compositions that allow for editorial text. I tried to incorporate this into this week's shoot, but am a bit unsure whether the tacos are identified as the main subject.

It's not empty, it's just clean and airy. :-)
