Haven't posted much in a while since I haven't shot much in a while but the team needs some content so looks like I'm back at it. Back story to this is my 13 year old was recruited to play for the Philly Union U15 academy team and within a week's time, he withdrew from school here in Ohio and took up residency in Philly with a host family. He attends YSC Academy which is owned by the team to allow players an awesome educational opportunity while accommodating two training sessions daily. Its rigorous but they really believe in these kids and where they might take the game. No question at all that some of the kids you see in these images will be playing professionally and for the USMNT within the next few years. As parents, we were so apprehensive but this has always been his dream and how do we not let him chase that if he has the ability to do so?
Game time was 11am with a mix of strong sun and clouds so shooting was a challenge to say the least. Settings are in exif but were all over the place. Most in the 400-500 ISO range at f/4.5 with shutter speeds between 1000 and 2000. All shot with a Canon 1DM3 and Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 with 1.4x tc. OS turned off, some shot handheld, others on a stick. While we didn't play terribly well (particularly in the closing minutes), we walked away with a 1-0 win which puts us on top of our USSDA division and second in the USSDA overall to LA Galaxy who we have yet to face.
Feel free to crit or just have a peek, whatever suits ya!
