An amazing country. More than wildlife, shot landscapes and vanishing cultures .... but the wildlife options were great also.

I have a local camera club gallery event coming up and need to decide which to print, so comments are appreciated.

A few action shots from the trip. Both are almost photojournalism as opposed to classic wildlife photos.

The Jackal shot was a nice surprise. I had been watching a large herd of zebra drinking at a waterhole. I saw a jackal approaching and assumed such a small animal would not be an issue to the zebra, so I focused on the Jackal just to get a shot or two. The Zebra bolted and I left the location mad I missed getting an in focus shot of the zebra panic. Once home, I found I had this, which is a bit different.

For the lion photo, again, I saw 4 very thin young lions at a waterhole. A few minutes earlier, I passed a zebra carcass covered in vultures. I saw the lions look up to the sky at circling birds and take off running. I assumed they were headed for the zebra kill, so I rushed back to the carcass and was able to photo the lions arriving on the scene.

Of course, comments appreciated.

A difficult call, but I like the Oryx shot - the contrast of the red, hard edge of the dune, with the pattern of the hoof prints, set against the land beyond, wins it for me.

Really very good images. Oryx for me but the waterhole reflections are superb too.

i was in Namibia twice in 2018 - July and October. In July, I was in Erindi, Etosha, Etosha Heights, Khowarib, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. In October, I went to Etosha, then th Palmwag on my way to camping 4 nights in Hoanib and some other riverbeds up near Angola then down to Walvis Bay and finally Sossusvlei.

Seriously, some of the most awesome photos I’ve ever seen. You know the work is top shelf when, after looking, you just want to see more and more.

If I had to pick one... the two Oryx going over the dune.
