Yeah I wouldn't get it either. For me I prefer to always have the EVF there and I don't even use my M5 enough to warrant buying this body.

So who will be getting the M6 Mark II?

I actually came upon this thread as the M62 is peaking my interest. I know there's a great size savings going with APS-C mirrorless, but haven't thought about buying as I had enough invested in DSLRs and could make do with lugging the trinity of zooms and my gripped 5D. However, I have another plane trip coming up and the allure of having a small kit is intriguing. Initial impressions I've seen online seem to indicate one strength is IQ, while optional EVF could have some more resolution. Unfortunately, the camera won't ship before my trip....so won't impulse buy :-) I've got a nice carry on that holds my 5D and 16mm-200mm L zooms (plus extender). It'll still be good glass for the landscapes I'll be taking. The initial kit I'd get with the M62 is it with 18-135 and EVF. Still way smaller than what I'm used to :-)

As a current M6 owner, I'm not upgrading. I don't think I'd see that much of a difference in my type of photography (landscapes). I think the EOS R and EF 16-35mm f4 are calling my name but we'll see if I ever bite. For now the M6 and 11-22mm do just fine.

I have really enjoyed my M5 and have started using it more and more on paid shoots in lieu of my 6D's and L glass. The light weight, small size, EVF, being able to touch anywhere you want to focus, and insanely low amount of missed shots has me reaching for this camera a lot. I used to carry all my camera gear with me on vacations, but last year just took my original M with the 22 f2 and adapted 50 f1.8 STM. I enjoyed my trip so much more and really enjoyed the light, simple kit.

The Mark 2 interests me. But I haven’t been using either of my cameras this year. I personally like the viewfinder being an option. I own it, but it’s far more compact without the big bump on top that the M5 has. And personally, I think in silver with the silver viewfinder it looks kind of cool and “retro”. Is the viewfinder new? I wonder if my viewfinder would work on the Mark 2.

It’s counterintuitive, but I wish they would release more lenses. Particularly constant aperture zooms and faster primes. But my favorite is still the 22mm. It’s just ridiculous how nice that lens is.

The EVF-DC1 or DC2 will work on the mk II. The EVF bundled with the mkII is the DC2.

The 22mm is a real winner of a lens. One of the downers of this system is the glass options. The 32mm does have interest though doubtful I'll buy. The 28 or 35mm EF options seem good because those can be adapted to the RF system. Wonder if at some point Canon will make an M to RF adapter?

Meanwhile the M3 is still going strong, paired with Sigma 18-35 ^_^

I wonder if the DC2 would work on the M6 MkI. Now that's something I might consider acquiring.

Yes, the DC2 was originally introduced with the M6 mk I.

One of downtown Denver from a couple of weeks ago. Taken from Sloan Lake late in the evening, just after sunset.

It's my wife's cam, but, I took it with me since I could fit 4 lenses, charger, cam, etc. in a small little bag. Made it much easier, really. ;)

Canon M5 with 18-150 @ 115mm, f/22 and two images blended together (0.6 + 0.3 sec).

I think you are in the wrong place - Nice setup, but nothing about this is EF-M...

Used the M5 to shoot an M6! :-P

This is a returning customer of mine, I've shot two other cars for him in the past (Gen 2 Viper and AMG E55). This is a pretty rare M6 Gran Coupe that he's put some mods into.

The M5 did great! Used all three of my lenses for the camera (11-22, 22 f2, 50 f1.8 STM) during different parts of my shoot. Camera didn't miss a beat and never held me back for any reason. The 11-22 is the bomb for rollers.
