I ended up pre-ordering it as well even though I was against it. I think if it had the same 24mp sensor there would be no way I would have.

I’m itching to order one. Maybe I’ll throw my M6 up on classifieds...

I just got the 11-22 and the 22mm in a shipment. I chose the 18-150 Kit for the M6 MkII. I hope they start shipping the 26th as indicated. I'm flying out the morning of the 30th and would love to take it with me.

I have both of those - the 22mm on an EF-M camera is gold.

I know I won't get a lot for the M6. I had to take a pretty good bath on my M3 to get the M6.

Selling camera bodies and lenses hurts. Part of the treadmill of gear updates. :-(

I have mine on preorder from canon direct; it is supposed to ship on Thursday. Can’t wait!

Joining the M gang soon. Just pre-ordered the M6’s mk2 to go alongside my 5d4. Selling off my Fuji bodies and lenses.

That’s my setup too: 5div + m6ii. I hope pre-orders ship on Thursday overnight as expected.

I made the mistake of moving away from Canon once but likely won't do so again. Don't get me wrong the Fuji X series is a VERY nice camera to shoot with. Ergonomics are probably better than the M6 I just ordered. I did not like the Xtrans files however (regardless of what I used for processing). In addition, it is a small system but pretty robust. By the time I had a kit put together it was actually pretty heavy and sizable for the purpose I want it for.

With the M6, I can have the 18-150, 22, and 11-22 in a Domke F10 with room left over, and it will weigh very little. The 22 mounted would fit in a pocket if I really wanted it too on occasion. Nice set up for what I want and lots of resolution.

If Canon comes out with a worthy successor to the 5D4, I may change that. I'm shelving any thoughts I had of moving to Sony bodies, or further into Fuji for a good while.

I have the M6 and the EOS R. Love the setup. I went off on Sony for a bit, but never left Canon.

Has anyone used many EF-S lenses with an EF-M camera? They aren’t quite as compact, but there are a ton more options.

I've tried a few but found myself going back to the EF-M lenses because of size and weight. These all worked fine although some looked a little weird, relating to size relativity.
Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, Tokina 11-16 f/2.8, Tamron 90 f/2.8 macro, Tamron 70 - 300 (can't remember aperture, and have lent it to a friend, as it's too heavy for me), Samyang 8mm fisheye, and adapted Helios and legacy Minolta lenses. Canon M5 fantastic for old manual lenses, as focus peaking makes focus a doddle.

Panasonic G9: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm
Canon M5: A variety of Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, prime and zoom lenses, Samyang fisheye, 2 lovely Minolta MD, just for fun a Helios 44-2 58m - and adapters.

How does EOS R compare for size and weight with other Canon DSLRS? I used to have the 70D.

The body is a little smaller and lighter than my 5D4. The EF glass though I think was smaller than the RF glass. Thankfully with the adapter, they work better than they did on the old DSLR’s. No MA needed. Seemed like it got a lot of bad press in the beginning, but it’s gained a lot of respect now.
