A question about the EF-S 55-250mm STM lens.
I noticed that when in AF mode, the focus ring of this lens is ineffective.
I read somewhere that it does not work in Servo Mode. After that I even tried it in on shot, but nothing changed.
The Canon spec page states it has FTM.
So either my lens is broken (I bought it used) or I am missing something.
If I switch the MF mode, it works as expected.

Can someone who has this lens chime in please....

Thank you.

Also, I bought a 28mm marco today. It was in the used case at a local camera. Whoops.

You are going to looooove that macro. I got it because “well I like taking close pictures of my garden flowers” and “I will have some trade-in credit at the camera store.” The more I use it, the more I love it. I could probably use it every day if I had the time and didn’t mind my entire photo stream being nothing but macros of flowers and rain drops on flowers.

After last weekend’s “iPhone on the most perfect sky over water day ever” debacle, I no longer leave the house without my camera. Thank goodness the M50 is small and light enough to allow me to do this even on my bad days. So this morning when the rain and clouds were making excellent mist over the mountains I drove near on the way to a doctor’s appointment, I was able to make a quick detour afterwards for some photos! Luckily we have plenty of little nature trails, parks, and other pull-offs scattered all over here in the Pacific Northwest.

Sad news, looks like Canon will be releasing a RF ASPC body (external link) so the future of EF-M seems to be set...

Kind of expected and sad. The M platform had good potential to expand yet I can see a nice line of R type APS-C body structure. The ability to use the RF mount makes it easy at that. We'll see!
