What's the difference between the compact and full-size lever release clamp on the rrs bh-30? I was looking into that ballhead and an L-plate for my Canon 6d mk ii. I usually shoot with the 24-105L ii or 16-35. Thanks.

The compact clamp (B2-40-LR) is 50mm wide and the full-sized clamp (B2-AS-II) is 60mm wide.

With both you have a choice of either Imperial 1/4"-20 or Metric M6 screw threads. European ball heads generally have metric threaded sockets in the ball stem and US stems can have either 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 threaded sockets. Ballheads sourced from Asian countries can have any of the three.

When I was considering the same for my Gitzo Traveler tripod, I opted for the BH-30 Compact Lever. For my 5DIII (soon 5D IV due to arrive today!), I have been using the L-plate by ProMediaGear with a great satisfaction.
