Canon 85 1.2 II or Sigma 105 1.4 art

Hi everyone, I need advice.
I have a Canon 1DX MK2 and a 5D MK3 and I usually do portraits and mainly with Canon 70-200 2.8.
I would like to buy a lens with a larger aperture and I thought of the Canon 85 1.2 II or the Sigma 105 1.4 art.
I can not decide because while on the net I find many reviews and examples of photos, I find very little about Sigma in order to have a precise idea.
I also have the Canon 85 1.8, but I would like to take one of the two lenses I described above.
Considering I'm a bokeh lover.
What do you recommend?

I had a chance to play with a 105 Art and really look at some files in studio and outside

The 105 art is a hidden gem. I would buy it over a 200L. Its definitely on par with a 200L with Bokeh. The only difference is the 200 pulls the background in a little closer

The 105 Art is an amazing lens. Dont know why more people have not discovered this lens. I trained with Nikki and looked at the before edit files. Just wow

I've had the Sigma 85 ART for just over a year and I love it. Fast focusing, beautiful bokeh, a pleasure to use. Just my two cents worth.

I have the 85L 1.2, I also have the 85 1.8. I use the 85 1.8 all of the time. It is one of my favorite lens. The 85L 1.2 is very good, but, big, bulky and heavy. It sits at home most of the time. I am tempted to sell it. I also have the 135L 2.0 which is my favorite for outside portrait shots.

The 85 1.2 L ii has a very unique look. It's quite a tricky lens to use but when you nail the shot the results are breathtaking.
It balances well on a 1dx2 and the focus, whilst a bit slow is a non issue for portraiture.

I've never used a modern Sigma lens so I can't comment on that.

I havent owned the Sigma 105 (Yet). BUT, I did just convert all of our portrait primes from Sigma to Canon (20,34,85,135 ART - 35II, 85 1.4, 135 L)

I will say, that sigma is a killer lens manufacturer. I find them to be a bit faster focusing, and a bit sharper than the canon equivalent. I LOVED all of our sigmas. The single reason we switched over, is that it takes about 6 weeks to fix a sigma. Where when you are a CPS member, it takes three days to fix a canon. We can't afford to be without lenses for that long. I have, without a doubt that the 105 is a amazing lens. Someday I hope to own it. If sigma ever makes a CPS system of their own, we will probably switch back.

I also had the 85 1.2II before going to the sigma. I would take the sigma over the L any day of the week. Even when the 85 nailed focus, it wasn't as sharp as the sigma.

I say sigma, all day every day.

I would get the Canon 85mm f/1,2L mark II.... magical rendering....
If you are okay with manual focusing for portraits, I would recommend the Zeiss Planar 1,4/85mm ZE

another bokeh lens I like is the AF-DC Nikkor 105mm f/2D.
It is a Nikon lens and had to be adapted to the Canon with only manual focus....

Does the lack of IS seem like a huge issue?

I had the 85 1.2L MKI and switched to the Sigma 85 Art as it's faster focussing and the same as the 85LII but way cheaper!
In the past I had the 135L, great lens for outside but long workingdistance just like the 85mm.
The 105 Art seems the perfect compromise in between, but I just bought the 85 Art and the 105 Art is even more heavy & bulky, so i'll stay with 85 Art
