I ran out of RAID capable controllers on my motherboard so I added two new drives last summer connected to SATA controllers on the motherboard. That seemed to be working well for the first few months, but during the last month they are resynching at least once a week, and it wakes several days every time.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm thinking I might need to get a RAID controller card.

One drive might be getting flakey. What kind of drives are these? If they're any kind of "green" drive, their aggressive power management have been known to cause problems in RAID setups.

That's a lot of data to trust to Windows' software mirroring. I hope you at least have a UPS. Do you let your PC sleep?

No, I don't let my PC sleep.

Do you have a recommendation for a RAID controller card?

Your question is fairly vague. You are perhaps implying that you've used some kind of operating system technology to create software RAID - which technology? Which disk format? How do you know they're going out of sync?

I use ReFS formatted disks and a storage spaces mirror, they've been reliable for the 2-3 years or so I've used them, which is since the W10 technical preview.
