I've got 3 Sony Vaios (2 desktops and a laptop). All great, solid computers. Never had one problem and my oldest one is from 1997.

RonaldS.Jr. Prodigal "Brick" Layer More info | Mar 23, 2006 18:14 | #32 4 total here. All windows, yet most are pretty new. However, not a single PC of mine had ever given me a problem, save a notorious Compaq that my mother bought for herself years ago. I have a Sony Vaio W-series, a Dell XPS Gen 5, a Dell Inspiron 9300, and a Dell Dimension 5100. All lovely machines, with more power than I really need. Mac users swear by their computers. PC users swear at theirs.

By the time they are able to run the Adobe software natively, there will be second generation machines around. This is one of those times where I am sure I don't want to look at upgrading for at least twelve months until it settles down. Those times don't come up very often and it's a nice feeling that I won't be tempted for the immediate future. A personal computer is just that, personal. Just because I use one, certainly doesn't mean that you will like it. I have always used macs and that is probably why I like them. The PC guys will have the same experience. Amen. Couldn't have put it better... the AppleCare runs out on my machine in December, so I'll start thinking about an upgrade by then. At that time, they should be on Rev. B for the MacBook (and possibly have a 17" out) and hopefully CS3 will be out. Tom Gehring

Funny how none of them ever come to anything. Hey, is this new virus the one that also hides the remote, turns off your fridge, and starts sleeping with your girlfriend? http://www.eweek.com …le2/0,1895,1941507,00.asp Jacob Oldenkamp

I also don't get your statement that windows breaks a lot. My PC doesn't crash and I don't have problems with windows at all. On the contrary - when I was taking some graphics design classes in college the Mac's they had were always crashing. But that's probably because they were used by tons of students who didn't care about them. Don't get me wrong, i used windows for the last 16 years, i just did the complete switch over mac. I never used virus software either and never had a problem, but thats because i know how to use a computer... my reasoning is for joe and betty sue down the street are less likly to have all their personal information stolen if they are using a mac because of far less crap floating around the internet. The majority of us really don't care how good your OS makes you feel, or how pasionate about it you are, and personaly I would be worried about that an OS is able to generate such levels of fundamentalist behaviour amongst some of its users. The original post was Mac vs. PC...it really shouldn't surprise anyone if that's the single biggest difference to discuss between these laptops. I think the "bashing" is more in good fun than people like to imagine. Epolevne
