Los Angeles & SpaceX launch

There is a SpaceX rocket launch scheduled from Vandenberg tonight at 8:30. I wanted to find a good overview spot to do a wide angle timelapse with downtown LA in the foreground. The launch is north and the last one went across the sky towards the west.

Anyone have any ideas?

My first thought is Elysian Park but I've never seen the view from there, it closed the last time I was up there with my camera.
