Price LOWERED: $1,100.00
Payment method: PayPal
Item condition: 9+ Shows little or no signs of wear

Ok, yeah, maybe a little dramatic in the title but I have a little-used Canon 1D Mark III that simply gets zero use anymore since my kids went to college. I used it primarily for softball, soccer and pole vaulting. This is the later serial number well beyond the focusing issues and it was awesome for tracking when I used it. When my daughter was a star in pole vaulting, the local paper used my images to do a write-up on her since they were so much sharper and in focus than what their photographer was able to achieve.

I know the exact shutter count because I sent it to CPS for a CLA and packed it away immediately after that. The shutter is 11660. This camera looks brand new. I have the box and every little accessory that came with it (most unused). I have the CPS receipt as well with the verified shutter count.

This was my 3rd 1D Mark III camera, having sold them and moving on to others but realizing it was a bad move (including a 1D Mark IV) and searching out another. I just couldn't let this last one go even though I knew I probably wouldn't shoot it much anymore. The reason? I've never had a camera - before or since - that renders skin tones as nice as this camera with the Digic III processors. Those that know... know: despite the lower resolution, those big fat pixels put out wonderful images. I had a conversation with someone here once who was also familiar with these cameras and he told me he actually preferred the look of the images and skin tones from his 1D Mark III over his 1Ds Mark III (despite the lower resolution). I feel this camera should be used, so I'm finally going to let it go.

I've also got a 28-70mm f/2.8L lens which is a perfect companion lens in size and weight for the camera. It's also in beautiful condition. If you're an old guy like me, you'll remember that this lens was purported to be better and sharper than the first generation 24-70L that followed it. I bought it a few years ago because I had sold all of my other Canon gear and I wanted just a single lens to pair with the 1D3 and this lens fits that bill nicely. I've used it very little overall and never since I put the 1D3 away. The guy I bought it from had it serviced and cleaned by CPS. When I told him that lens was no longer covered by them, he told me he had a good relationship with his local CPS and they did the CLA anyway (so this is a nice little bonus). Includes caps, original hood, BOX and HARD CASE (case in exc condition).

I'd like to get $1150 for the whole kit (net). That's a lot of tough hardware for petty cash that you could use to beat off a pack of wild dogs (while they laugh like hyenas at the little mirrorless Happy Meal Toys your buddies are climbing up the nearest tree with). Be a man! Buy this camera!

I'll listen to offers but I'd like to sell them as a kit. I've got extras too and I'd rather negotiate the extra goodies in than get lowball offers (reasonable offers are welcomed): more OEM batteries than you'll ever need, RRS L-Bracket, etc. Everything is nicer than it would look after just one professional outing with it. I'm just a hack hobbyist and a gearhead so I like to keep my stuff really nice. And these are really, really nice.

Check my feedback both here and at Fred Miranda where I have over 100 positive feedback. I'm also open to trades since I just switched over from Sony to Nikon and will be gearing up towards that switch.

Thanks for looking. The first pic is taken with this camera. The rest were taken with my iphone. I apologize for the quality but I'm between cameras right now!

Price lowered.
I will also consider selling separately.
I'm also interested in equitable trades.

This camera is still very current in cable interfacing and battery type unlike the predecessor 1D and 1D2 cameras. This is a wonderful sports camera that's nearly indestructible and has the extra reach APS-H sensor...
