Sorry if asked before ...

My friend has between $250 and $300 to buy her son a lens for his Nikon camera.

He just got it last year and is not into shooting anything in specific yet, he shoots portrait, landscapes, urban etc.

His mom already bought him the nikon af-s fx nikkor 50mm f/1.8g lens last year, so he wouldn't need that.

Honestly, just any lens you have owned around that price range, that you have been impressed with, despite the price. She is wanting to get a new one for his bag for Christmas.

Old thread, I know.. but what camera does he have? If it's a DX, I'd recommend the 35/1.8 DX lens.. if full frame, maybe something wide like the 20/2.8D.
