I have toyed with the multiflash stuff in the past but it was more to fill a room with bounce light. Never tried a key light aproach let alone adding a rim light.

Also this105 1.4 is new to me, so getting used to it.

The shot:

Santa and Christmas lights are roughly 50-55' from.the camera (shop is 60' door to door, I had the door where the camera was open and at the edge of the opening.)

The girls are lit with a speed flash and a white shoot through umbrella aprox 3' in diameter. This was at +1 on the controller.

The rim light is another speed light behind Yvonne (my Blondy) facing straight up with the white card pulled out. This was at -1 on the controller.

There was no light in the shop other than Santa, Christmas lights and the flashes.

While I thought the girls were squared up to each other and focus was preset set on Annalise (browny) I feel it is slightly front focused for Yvonne on some shots. So thinking she is slightly behind the plain of focus. The shots where she is in is because she is leaning in..

Looking for ways to make it better next year.

I like the oof lights and Santa. But both shots seem a little underexposed to me,Yvonne even more than Anna. It looks like some light placement for Yvonne needs to be behind and above her. I don't get a rimlight feel for these shots either (where light is coming from behind). And in #2 it looks like Yvonne is coughing up tinsel--be careful of the background. Finally, Santa's lower half is too bright in both shots.

Really like them. My only thing would have maybe of add reflectors on either side to lighten up the shadows. You also don't seem to have any true whites in there..... but these two are so cute.... who cares

Completely agree with your opinion, and they seem to be having a great time.
