Do folks charge for mileage when out of town? I may have a wedding that is 1 1/2 hours each way. Approx 95km or 60 miles each way.

Is there a typical mileage rate that should be charged?

The job may be 3 to 4 hours at best.

You might start with a basic concept that there is a max distance which is included in the basic fee of covering any wedding. For example, it might be a 30 mi radius...then you charge for the extra miles over the normal 30mi allocation..
Use the same mileage rate that the IRS allows to deduct in your tax return ...reasonable to ask for excess miles you have to drive.
Then when you invoice for additional money for the extra distance, that offsets the increased cost incurred by you, with no net change to income declared at income tax time.

Are you also charging for the actual travel time or strictly on a per mile basis?

The IRS rate is $0.545/mile in 2018 and will go up to $0.58 in 2019. So a 60 mile trip (in 2019) will get you a $34.80 deduction. Keep in mind that the purpose of the IRS mileage rate is it represents the cost of operating the vehicle; i. e., the fixed and variable costs of operating an automobile, including depreciation, insurance, repairs, tires, maintenance, gas and oil. So unless you charge some hourly rate in addition to the mileage, you are free for the travel time. At about 1-1/2 hours each way, that would be my upper limit of give away time.

What is the pricing structure for the wedding? Per image pricing, total job, hourly rate?

Priced out an hourly rate for this particular one but normally it is a package so I think that like others have said it it outside my 30 mi radius so I will need to charge for it.
