Lots of murmuring from the crowd of course. Finally one British guy says, "OY! You two! Bugger off!" to cheers from the onlookers and the paddlers paddle away. They didn't come ashore that I could see and were probably afraid to.

That would have been an order of magnitude more interesting than the generic Louise shots you and your 399 friends got. Props to the kayak boys for inciting a passive aggressive riot among an angry mob of photographers hoisting tripods above their heads screaming for their turn to take the same picture that's been snapped a million times before.
